ATA December 12, 2024 General Membership Meeting Minutes & Holiday Potluck Dinner

The New Auchentoroly Terrace Association (ATA) held its General Membership Meeting and annual holiday potluck dinner at the Parks & People Stone House on Thursday, December 12, 2024, 6-8pm

  • ATA President Graham Coreil-Allen called the meeting to order.
  • ATA Chaplain Deacon Tally led an opening prayer.
  • Western District NCO Officer Morales shared updates on public safety efforts:
    • There was a recent shooting on Orem Avenue where the victim lived. BPD signed a no trespassing agreement with the adjacent corner store to more easily arrest people committing crime in the space.
    • BPD is now focusing on ticketing drivers with Virginia plates without matching VIN numbers. Typically local drivers with Virginia plates are not carrying insurance, which endangers others.
  • Reginald Williams of MONSE shared about the Gun Violence Reduction Strategy (GVRS) helping at-risk individuals avoid “losing life or freedom”.
  • 7th District City Councilman James Torrence shared updates from his office:
    • The Druid Lake Reservoir project is nearing completion. They expect green grass around the new amphitheater come spring.
    • Additional fundraising for future improvements around the lake is taking place, including local, state, and federal.
    • The city is on track to have a balanced budget next year.
    • The Village At Mondawmin is coming along with several healthcare spaces for residents and seniors.
    • MDOT will soon begin community outreach for its $20 million RAISE project to make transit and connectivity improvements around Mondawmin Station.
    • The city has secured $640 million in settlements against drug companies, which it will use to address addiction and drug violence.
  • Outgoing ATA President Graham Coreil-Allen shared reflections and appreciation for his time serving as president over the past four years.
  • The 2025-2026 ATA Officers were sworn in by Reverend Hazell.
  • Residents share various Good News Gallery / Community Announcements, including thanks for the Holiday Dinner organizing committee.
  • Meeting was adjourned, followed by the annual ATA Holiday Potluck dinner.
