ATA November 12th, 2020 Meeting Minutes

THE NEW AUCHENTOROLY TERRACE ASSOCIATION, INC.

ATA’s monthly meeting was held via Zoom video conference call on Thursday November 12th 2020. Graham Coreil-Allen, interim vice president, opened the meeting and led the residents in a community prayer.  The minutes from the October 8th 2020 meeting were read by Anne Goncalves, secretary, and approved as read. President Barbara Anderson Dandy welcomed residents and partners and gave remarks.

Agenda:

Sergeant Jesse H. Rosser, Supervisor-Western District Police Department-Neighborhood Coordination Officers, and Officer Adrian Mobley gave residents statistics about crime in the neighborhood.  Larceny from automobiles has been on the rise, so please be vigilant.  Illegal dumping sites should be reported first to 311 and then followed up with an email to Sergeant Rosser.  Please follow the same protocol for abandoned vehicles.  Additionally, Sergeant Rosser put out a call for interested youth, aged 14-20 who have completed 8th grade with at least a C average that may be interested in becoming involved in law enforcement.   The Western District is also requesting names of families that may need assistance in the form of a Thanksgiving basket.  Since Sergeant Rosser is new to our district, he told residents about himself and why he is passionate about community involved policing. Officer Mobley replaced our last NCO – she introduced herself and asked residents to email and call her if they need any assistance.  Members were able to share questions and concerns with the officers about their neighborhood, including crime related to drug sale.

Roan Bennet, the Director of Office of Customer and Community Relations MDOT- MTA, reached out to residents to introduce himself and welcomed questions and remarks about the functioning of MTA in our neighborhood. Mr. Bennet reviewed the various measures and efforts that the MTA has undertaken in order to keep MTA riders and operators safe during the Covid19 pandemic. Mr. Bennet made his contact information available to residents for future MTA related questions and concerns.

ATA’s membership discussed their upcoming election- ATA’s President Barbara Anderson Dandy announced that she would step down from the presidency after two decades of incredible dedication to the Auchentoroly Terrace community.  Residents shared memories and thanks.  We are so grateful for Miss Barbara’s leadership and service!
