ATA News and Updates!!
Greetings Everyone!
We have some news and updates to share, and we hope you find a gem in there that may benefit you or someone you know.
[1] Baltimore City Housing Survey
Baltimore City would like your input and feedback on the potential impacts of the Housing Options and Opportunity Act on the West North Avenue Corridor. It is a simple 5-question Survey that can help shape the future of housing in our community with your help!
BILL OVERVIEW:
The Baltimore City Housing Options and Opportunity Act permits low-density multi-family housing in more residential areas, with the goal of increasing the housing supply. It would specifically allow the conversion of single-family homes into multi-unit dwellings, thereby increasing the number of properties that qualify beyond the two zoning districts currently in place. To address the City’s housing scarcity, the bill aims to improve housing affordability and accessibility.

In addition to the dumpster, tools, bags, and other supplies will be available for volunteers to use on site.
When: Saturday, August 2nd 2025, from 9 am – 1 pm
Where: Alley Behind 3200 Auchentoroly Terrace (Next to vacant lot on Whittier Ave)
Can’t wait to see you there!
[3] Auchentoroly Terrace Community Green Space Survey
Baltimore Greenspace is leading an initiative to transform vacant lots in our neighborhoods into valuable community green spaces that will enhance property values and benefit the community. Our community liaison, Patrick Filbert, has actively engaged in community events and has been working to gather data to ensure that our needs and voices are heard. There are approximately 17 empty lots that could be transformed into community green spaces for us to enjoy for generations. To help make this vision a reality, we would greatly appreciate your input. He has created a survey to gather data, allowing us to choose the sites we want under community control and determine how those spaces will be developed. This survey is a vital part of the process to preserve our neighborhood’s open spaces sustainably. We still need more participation to ensure they get the feedback they need. Thank you for taking the time to complete it!
