ATA September 8, 2022 General Membership Meeting Minutes & 2023-2024 ATA Election Results

The New Auchentoroly Terrace Association (ATA) held its General Membership Meeting and 2023-2024 Election of Officers in person at the Parks and People Stone House and online via video conference call on Thursday, September 8, 2022, 6-8pm. ATA President Graham Coreil-Allen opened the meeting. The minutes from the March meeting were approved as read. President Graham Coreil Allen welcomed members and began the meeting.

Baltimore City Police Department Captain Matt Correll shared updates on recent homicides in the neighborhood and took questions. He explained the patrol resources available and how they are strategically deployed. Captain Correll also encouraged residents to report all incidents to 911 to help drive data collection to increase attention to our blocks.

Ken Thompson joined virtually and shared an overview of the Baltimore Consent Decree Monitoring Team’s mission and current progress with the Consent Decree.

Chris Anderson introduced himself as a GOP Candidate for District 40 State Senate race.

President Coreil-Allen nominated Al Chenault to serve as an honorary member of ATA. Coreil-Allen read Chenault’s impressive biography and background in law and community development. In a unanimous in-person vote Chenault was approved to be an honorary member of ATA.

Reverend Olivia Moyd Hazell chaired the in-person election of the 2023-2024 ATA Officers. After beginning the process, President Coreil-Allen answered questions from the audience, including where anyone could download the ATA By-Laws from the organization website. In addition, the membership sign up process was reiterated and approximately 35 new members submitted via money orders were confirmed. 

Reverend Hazell invited each officer nominee to share for up to two minutes about why they seek to serve and their vision for the neighborhood. Residents were allowed to ask questions and candidates responded. In-person voting was conducted using paper ballots that were distributed to members as they checked into the meeting. Ballots were collected and counted by Sergeant-At-Arms Michael Grooms with 40th District State Senator Antonio Hayes and Marshall Bell serving as witnesses. 

The following members were elected to server as the 2023-2024 ATA Officers:

  • President: Graham Coreil-Allen
  • Vice President: Cheryl Bailey Solomon
  • Recording Secretary: Dale Terrell
  • Corresponding Secretary: Al Chenault
  • Treasurer: Donna Cypress
  • Financial Secretary: Bernadette Tanzymore
  • Parliamentarian: Brittany King
  • Sergeant-at-Arms: Michael Grooms
  • Chaplains: Olivia Moyd Hazell, Deacon Tally Murray

After the election President Coreil-Allen invited Senator Hayes to speak. Hayes shared several updates, including major funding for improvements to Druid Hill Park. President Coreil-Allen then closed the meeting.
